Big Picture Green is an overview of the what, why and how of sustainability. What is the definition of sustainability beyond what one can find in a dictionary? What are the major impact categories that influence professional decision making? Why is it important and profitable to build sustainable? Once the what and why are answered the question that remains is how do we build truly sustainable? Big Picture Green provides a systematic approach to answering all of these questions. The four learning points are: 1. To understand the TRACE impact categories established by the EPA 2. To understand the effect of design and construction industry practices as they relate to each of the major impact categories established by the EPA 3. To understand the wide variety of green building tools available to design professionals including an array of rating systems, standards and technology. 4. To understand how to approach the design process to maximize the success of sustainable building strategies through team structure, collaborative communication and precision technical documents.
